With 2017 sprinting at us head on, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stay focused. With minds wandering to thoughts about holiday parties, gifts, and travel plans, you may find yourself sitting back at your work desk before you know it.<\/p>\n
Whether you’re powering through your personal to-do list or taking some time off to relax, unwind and recharge, be sure to take a moment to think about your goals for 2017. Goal setting can be tough, so try kicking off your brainstorm session by reflecting on your 2016 goals.<\/p>\n
Maybe you have last year’s goals written down somewhere or you have a trap for a mind. What were the goals you set for yourself in 2016? Why did you make them? Did you achieve them? What things did you change in your life to help achieve your goals, or contrarily, what behaviors prevented you from accomplishing your 2016 ambitions?<\/p>\n
After chewing on what success looked like last year considering the facilitators and\/or barriers to achieving it, what does 2017 have in store for you? Are a few goals on last year’s list sneaking onto this list too? That’s okay! Since you’ve already thought about why things didn’t go as planned, you can begin thinking about what you can do differently to get it right in 2017.<\/p>\n
We’re huge believers in making our goals realistic and achievable. Otherwise, what’s the point? Having great dreams and aspirations is a wonderful thing, but if you’re paving a path setting you up for failure, then it’s moot. Think about what you want to achieve and break it down into mini-goals. It’s easier to track progress and allows you celebrate small wins along the way.<\/p>\n
